Dear Al:
The Stanford Computer Science Department is now using the
C language for the Motorola 68000 cross compiled on the VAX. I
have seen the first object programs running. They are using the
Motorola development board and have connected it to the VAX so
that programs can be down loaded after compilation. The C manual
is commercially available and are sold in bookstores including
the Stanford bookstore.
The C compiler being used here was apparently developed
at M.I.T., though Stanford got it through Carnegie-Mellon. If
you like I will find out to whom one should inquire for its
commercial use, although Ed may be able to find out more easily.
Almost certainly the compiler is written in C
and will therefore run on any computer for which C is available.
This seems like the right way to go.
